Rebuilding Struggles for Turkey Earthquake Survivors
More than six months after a devastating earthquake in southern Turkey, many people in Adiyaman are still waiting for new homes. The earthquake and subsequent aftershocks killed thousands and displaced nearly 3 million people. The slow pace of reconstruction has left many families dependent on the kindness of others, with makeshift bakeries providing free bread to those in need. The government's response has been widely criticized, and while officials have discussed an assistance package for private rebuilding, it has yet to be implemented, leaving families uncertain about what help they will receive and when.
