Maria O’Brien, Longtime DOOL Acting Coach and Screen Actress, Dies at 75
Maria O’Brien, a film and television actress and longtime acting coach on daytime dramas including Days of Our Lives, has died at 75. The daughter of Oscar-winner Edmund O’Brien and Olga San Juan, she appeared in films such as Smile and The Incredible Shrinking Woman, and in Protocol (1984). She coached DOOL for 15 years until retiring in 2022, testified before Congress about Alzheimer’s and helped secure government funding for Alzheimer's research, and is survived by three children.
