"Shaheen Malik: Inspiring Empowerment for Acid Attack Survivors"
Shaheen Malik, an acid attack survivor, has become a beacon of hope for countless victims by running a shelter home called Apna Ghar for acid attack survivors. After experiencing a devastating acid attack herself, Malik underwent numerous surgeries and treatments to restore her left eye. Realizing the lack of support for acid attack survivors, she founded the NGO Brave Souls Foundation and has transformed the lives of over 300 survivors by providing comprehensive support, including medical treatment, psychological therapy, education, and vocational training. The survivors at Apna Ghar demand a ban on the sale of acid and greater sensitization towards their challenges.
