LaMonte McLemore, founding voice of the 5th Dimension, dies at 90
LaMonte McLemore, a founder of the 1960s vocal group the 5th Dimension, died at age 90 in Las Vegas from natural causes after a stroke. The group, which had crossover hits such as Go Where You Wanna Go, Up, Up and Away and Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In, won six Grammys including record of the year in 1967 and 1969. McLemore also worked as a sports and celebrity photographer and served in the U.S. Navy; he is survived by his wife Mieko, daughter Ciara, son Darin, sister Joan and three grandchildren.
