Apple has released its Vision Pro mixed-reality headset, a wearable device that projects visual applications in a 3D environment controlled by eye and hand movements. The headset features a "spatial computer" that projects a digital user interface into the room, controlled by eye movements and hand gestures. It also includes spatial-audio speakers, integration with physical environments, and the ability to capture and share 3D environments. The device was launched at Apple's 5th Avenue retail store in Manhattan, with CEO Tim Cook touting it as ushering in a "new era for computing."
Xenonauts 2, a sequel to the 2014 game Xenonauts, stays true to its old-school XCOM-inspired roots with its complex turn-based formula, challenging difficulty, and deep gameplay mechanics. Set in an alternate timeline where the Cold War never ended, players control a multinational special forces team tasked with defending Earth from UFO intruders. The game features a mix of global strategy and squad-based battles, with a focus on managing resources, upgrading equipment, and engaging in tactical ground battles. While the sequel offers improvements in graphics and variety, it largely retains the same loop as its predecessor, making it a conservative modernization rather than a revolutionary release. Xenonauts 2 is set to release on July 18 for Windows PC.
