"iPhone 17 Pro's 2nm Chip Production On Schedule Despite Challenges"

Despite facing challenges such as an earthquake in Taiwan and high startup costs for a 2nm plant in Arizona, Apple chipmaker TSMC remains on track to produce the 2nm chip for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max in 2025. The earthquake resulted in the loss of a few hundred thousand chips, but insurance will cover the damages, and TSMC is making progress towards its production schedule. The company is also building a 2nm plant in Arizona, with plans for additional advanced plants in Germany and Japan, and trial production is set to begin in the second half of 2024.
