Multiple Fires Blaze in Sandia Mountains
A wildfire, known as the 10K Fire, has started in the Sandia Mountains, with the cause still unknown. The fire is currently burning in timber and exhibiting moderate fire behavior with isolated torching. Firefighters from the Cibola National Forest, Bernalillo County, and Albuquerque Fire have been dispatched and are responding. The strategy for the 10K Fire is full suppression, and there are no evacuations in effect. The public is advised to stay away from the area, and drones should not be flown in the area to keep the air clear.
