Israel faces scorching heatwave and wildfires

Israel is bracing for an extreme heatwave with temperatures reaching 40°C, the highest since the beginning of spring. A sandstorm and heavy fog in the south led to the delay of two flights. The Nature and Parks Authority has closed hiking trails in the Judean Hills and Shefela region due to the high risk of fires.
