147,199 Holocaust Survivors in Israel Prepare for Memorial Day

Ahead of the Holocaust Memorial Day, the Holocaust Survivors’ Rights Authority has revealed that there are 147,199 Holocaust survivors living in Israel, with an average age of 85. The authority has spent over $1.52 billion on survivors over the past year, with a focus on increasing grants and expanding resources for those experiencing loneliness, stress, and anxiety. Roughly one in three survivors lives in poverty, with many dependent on food donations.
