"Voters Urged to Cease Consumption of Free Laundry Pods, Campaign Office Pleads"

The campaign office of Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) presidential candidate Hou You-yi in Taiwan distributed 460,000 laundry detergent pods as freebies, leading to at least three people being hospitalized after consuming them. The campaign is now advising voters to stop eating the pods and has apologized for the incident. The pods were given out in packaging bearing the KMT party slogan and images of the candidate, and at least one person mistook them for candy.
