Supporters of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) clashed with police in Dhaka, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the appointment of a caretaker government. The BNP, in disarray since its leader Khaleda Zia was jailed in 2018, has been holding large protest rallies due to anger over the cost of living.
