"Uzbekistan's Snap Presidential Vote Set to Prolong Incumbent's Rule"

Voters in Uzbekistan are participating in a snap presidential election, widely expected to extend President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's rule by seven more years. Following a constitutional referendum that allowed Mirziyoyev to run for two additional terms, he called for the snap election. Mirziyoyev is set to win by a landslide against three token rivals, as all registered political parties in Uzbekistan are loyal to him.
