UK energy minister Grant Shapps said that the world has moved on from former Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the Conservative Party does not miss the drama of his period in office. Johnson resigned from parliament in protest against an investigation into his conduct during the COVID-19 pandemic. Shapps added that Johnson had many qualities, but people both in and outside the Conservative Party do not miss the drama of it all. Johnson's former director of communications, Guto Harri, said that Johnson had been "hounded" out of politics, but it is virtually impossible to write him off.
