Soyinka speaks out against political intolerance and comparisons to Achebe.

Playwright and Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka, has criticized the fascist language used by the vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Datti Baba-Ahmed, who attempted to dictate judgment to the Supreme Court during a Channels TV interview on the presidential election won by the All Progressives Congress. Soyinka also condemned voter suppression in some polling units in Lagos State during the governorship and House of Assembly poll. He further criticized the Obidients, supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, who are currently challenging the poll result in court. Soyinka offered to engage with Datti Baba-Ahmed or any nominee of his on Channels TV's platform without the intervention of media trolls.
