South Africa's governing party seeks to withdraw from ICC.

South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that the governing African National Congress (ANC) party has decided that South Africa should withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC), largely due to what is perceived as the court's unfair treatment of certain countries. The decision comes after an arrest warrant was issued against Russian President Vladimir Putin in March, which means that if he were to attend the BRICS summit in South Africa later this year, Pretoria would have to detain him on arrival. This is not the first time South Africa has attempted to withdraw from the ICC.
