Sanna Marin, Europe's Youngest Ex-PM, Bids Farewell to Politics

Former Finnish prime minister Sanna Marin, one of Europe's youngest leaders, has announced her departure from Finnish politics and her intention to join a London-based non-profit organization. Marin, who led a center-left coalition government and gained international visibility for her handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and support for Ukraine, cited a desire for a new role and the potential benefit to Finland as reasons for her decision. Finland's recent entry into NATO and her defeat in the parliamentary elections earlier this year also played a role. Marin will join the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change as a strategic counselor, advising on issues such as good governance, technology, climate, and gender equality.
