Rajasthan Minister Sacked for Acknowledging State's Rape Crisis

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot sacked junior minister Rajendra Singh Gudha after he admitted in the assembly that the Congress government had failed to ensure the security of women in the state. Gudha's remarks were seized upon by the opposition BJP, who criticized the government's handling of women's safety. Gudha had recently switched allegiances from the Gehlot camp and held the departments of Sainik Kalyan, civil defence, and rural development. His dismissal comes ahead of assembly polls and amid protests against Prime Minister Modi's comments on Rajasthan.
