Opposition's Criticism of New Parliament Building Draws BJP and Union Minister's Ire

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) tweeted a picture of a coffin alongside the new Parliament building, likening the triangular shape of the latter to a coffin. The BJP responded by saying that the RJD's politics will be buried in the coffin in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. BJP spokespersons called the tweet "disgusting" and "condemnable". The RJD justified the tweet by saying that democracy was buried as neither the President nor the Vice President were invited to the inauguration. The new Parliament building, constructed by Tata Projects Ltd, will have a grand Constitution Hall, a lounge for MPs, a library, multiple committee rooms, dining areas and ample parking space.
