Liberia President George Weah gracefully accepts election loss

Liberian President George Weah has conceded defeat to opposition leader Joseph Boakai in a tight election race, marking a win for democracy in West Africa. Boakai, a former vice president, secured 50.9% of the vote compared to Weah's 49.1%. Weah's concession ensures a smooth transition of power in Liberia, which has struggled with poverty, unemployment, food insecurity, and inadequate electricity supply. This marks Liberia's second democratic transfer of power in over seven decades.
