Ex-leader Sturgeon's husband held in SNP funding probe.

Peter Murrell, the husband of former Scottish leader Nicola Sturgeon and former CEO of the Scottish National Party (SNP), has been arrested as part of a police investigation into the funding of the pro-independence party. The investigation is looking into the disappearance of over £600,000 raised by Scottish independence campaigners in 2017. Murrell resigned from his position as CEO of the SNP last month after accepting blame for misleading the public about a plunge in the number of party members. The SNP said it would not comment on any live police investigation but has been cooperating with the probe.
