EU boosts security aid to Ukraine with €3.5B increase in EPF ceiling.

The Council of the EU has increased the financial ceiling of the European Peace Facility (EPF) by €3.5 billion, bringing the total to over €12 billion. The EPF was established in March 2021 to finance all common foreign and security policy actions relating to military and defence matters. The EU has provided Ukraine with seven security assistance packages totaling €3.6 billion, and the EPF will continue to provide and boost security assistance to Ukraine and other partner countries.
