Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed surprise over the YSR Congress's significant defeat in the state Assembly elections despite implementing numerous welfare schemes. Acknowledging the people's verdict, he vowed to continue working for the poor and noted that the party is accustomed to being in opposition. The TDP-Jana Sena-BJP alliance achieved a landslide victory, winning 85 seats and leading in 79 more, while YSRCP secured only three Assembly seats and was leading in eight segments.
