Devastating Tornado Strikes Alberta, Leaving Homes Wrecked but No Serious Injuries

A tornado touched down north of Calgary, damaging up to 12 homes, with five heavily affected. No serious injuries were reported, but livestock had to be destroyed. Traffic was halted along the Queen Elizabeth II highway as a strong thunderstorm with heavy rain and large hail moved through the area. The tornado passed between Didsbury and Carstairs. The town of Didsbury has opened a reception center for affected residents, and cleanup efforts are underway. This comes after several tornado warnings in the Calgary area and a powerful storm earlier in the week.
