Italy's ongoing floods leave devastation and fear in their wake.

The Italian Red Cross is providing assistance to hundreds of people affected by deadly floods and landslides in the Emilia-Romagna region. The death toll has reached 14, and more bodies may be found as emergency services continue to carry out rescues and evacuations. The flooding has caused damage to homes and shops, blocked roads, and disrupted train travel. The region was hit twice, first by heavy rain on drought-parched ground, and then by a weather system that dumped half the average annual amount of rain in 36 hours.
