United States Applauds Progress in Ending Sudan Conflict at IGAD Summit

The United States commends the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) for its efforts in ending the conflict in Sudan and addressing the humanitarian needs of the Sudanese people. The US welcomes the commitments made by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to an unconditional ceasefire and urges them to enter talks without delay. The US supports IGAD's condemnation of support to the warring parties and expresses concern over the impact of the conflict on women and children.
