Ukraine's Bold Admission: Blowing Up Russia's Crimean Bridge

Ukraine's deputy defense minister, Hanna Maliar, admitted responsibility for an attack last year that seriously damaged Russia's Kerch Strait Bridge to Crimea, marking 500 days of war. The bridge was targeted to disrupt Russian logistics and impede Moscow's efforts to transport supplies to the occupied Crimea Peninsula. Ukrainian responsibility for the attack was previously hinted at but not officially claimed. The strike, which killed four people, proved a humiliation for Russian leadership and caused significant damage to the bridge. Vehicle traffic was fully restored in February, with rail service returning in May.
