Chinese President Xi Jinping's recent visit to Russia conveyed China's support for Russia, but more importantly, it signaled that Sino-Russia strategic alignment will continue and expand regardless of Russia's destructive behaviors and its strategy of chaos. China believes that partnering with Russia outweighs the risks as long as Russia shares China's grievances toward the U.S. Xi's primary focus during the trip was on expanding commercial ties with Russia and jointly promoting their shared agenda to challenge the existing international order. China is unlikely to question its alignment with Russia unless Russian escalation significantly and deliberately damages China's national interests.
