"Russia Warns of Highest Risk of Nuclear Conflict in Decades"

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov warns that the risk of a nuclear conflict is at its highest level in decades, stating that Moscow is in a "de-facto" open conflict with Washington over the war in Ukraine. Relations between Russia and the United States have worsened since Russia's invasion of Ukraine last year, and Moscow pulled out of the New START nuclear arms reduction treaty with Washington in February. Ryabkov criticizes Washington's "hostile course" towards Moscow and says there is "no question" of Russia restoring the treaty for now.
