Russia Rejects Ceasefire in Ukraine as Ineffective for Achieving Goals.

Russia has rejected Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko's call for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine, stating that it would not enable it to achieve its goals. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia's special military operation in Ukraine would continue as it is the only means to achieve its goals. Russia has said it is open for peace but only on its terms, which include Kyiv accepting the "new realities" on the ground, where Russia has seized and claimed to have annexed more than a sixth of Ukrainian territory.
