The United Nations has accused Russia of denying aid workers access to areas of Ukraine affected by the recent Kakhovka dam collapse, where residents are stranded without food, water, or power. The Kremlin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, claimed that the fighting in the war-torn region made it unsafe for aid workers to visit. Survivors have accused Russian authorities of doing little or nothing to help, and some civilians have been forced to present Russian passports if they want to leave. The death toll from the dam collapse has risen to 18, with 31 people still missing.
