Putin Asserts Russian Troops Maintain Upper Hand in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin claims that his country's military has gained the upper hand in Ukraine, stating that they are holding the initiative and effectively pursuing their goals. Putin praised Russian troops for repelling Ukrainian attacks during the counteroffensive and declared that Western attempts to defeat Russia militarily have failed. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu highlighted the military's combat experience and increased production of advanced weapons. Putin emphasized the need to improve military communications, intelligence, and counterartillery capabilities, as well as expand nuclear forces. While open to talks, Putin warned that Russia will not give up what it considers its own interests.
