"NATO Allies Strengthen Ukraine's Navy with Warship Boost"

The UK and Norway are leading a coalition to help Ukraine secure its maritime export routes against Russian interference in the Black Sea. As a first step, the UK is transferring two minehunter ships to Ukraine, with the long-term goal of transforming Ukraine's Navy to be more compatible with Western allies and bolstering security in the region. The coalition aims to strengthen the Ukrainian navy, safeguard maritime transportation routes, and secure freedom of navigation. The move comes as Russia's Black Sea blockade has significantly reduced Ukraine's ability to move exports by sea. The coalition will also work with Ukraine's Navy and Defence Ministry to develop capabilities, including a Marine Corps and river-patrol craft.
