Maldives foreign minister Moosa Zameer met with Indian counterpart S Jaishankar at the NAM summit in Uganda, reiterating the call for the withdrawal of Indian military personnel from the country. While President Mohamed Muizzu has set a deadline for the withdrawal, India is still in talks to find a solution. The ministers also discussed ongoing development projects in the Maldives and cooperation within SAARC and NAM, with the mention of SAARC being significant due to India's refusal to move ahead with the summit process because of Pakistan's support for cross-border terrorism.
