ICC Prosecutor: Blocking Aid to Gaza May Constitute a Crime

The International Criminal Court's Prosecutor, Karim Khan, has stated that impeding aid to Gaza could be considered a crime under the jurisdiction of the ICC. Khan called on Israel to ensure that civilians have access to basic food and medicine, emphasizing that curtailment of these rights could lead to criminal responsibility under the Rome Statute. He also expressed his intention to visit Gaza and Israel to vindicate these rights. Aid supplies to Gaza have been severely limited since Israel's bombardment began, with Oxfam accusing Israel of using "starvation as a weapon of war." The ICC has ongoing investigations into alleged crimes committed in Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank.
