Russia's Deputy Secretary of the Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, warned that NATO's increase in military aid to Ukraine brings World War Three closer. Medvedev dismissed the aid as a "dead end" and stated that Russia's special military operation in Ukraine will continue with the same goals. He also advocated for the use of cluster munitions, following reports of Ukraine already using them. The U.S. announced it would supply Ukraine with cluster munitions, which are banned by many countries. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu warned that Russia would be forced to use similar weapons if the U.S. supplied cluster bombs to Ukraine.
