Bulgaria Continues to Support Ukraine's Military Advancements

Bulgaria's defense committee has approved the provision of older air defense systems and assistance with F-16 training for Ukraine. The move comes as Ukraine faces the threat of Russia targeting its energy infrastructure during the winter. The air defense systems could include Soviet-made S-300 missiles. The decision now moves to the plenary hall for further deliberations, with the support of government-aligned lawmakers. If adopted, the Bulgarian government will negotiate with NATO partners for the deployment of air defenses and coastal anti-ship systems in Bulgaria to strengthen domestic defense capabilities.
