Alleged Russian-Swede Spy Facilitates Transfer of Western Technology to Moscow

A Swedish-Russian man, Sergei Skvortsov, has been charged in Sweden with providing Western technology to Russia's military industry. Skvortsov is accused of carrying out "unlawful intelligence activities" against the United States and Sweden for a decade until his arrest in November 2022. The prosecution alleges that Skvortsov procured Western technology information and products that were off-limits to Moscow due to international sanctions and passed them on to Russia's military industry. The trial is set to begin on September 4, and Skvortsov faces up to four years in prison if found guilty.
