Uyghur student missing in Hong Kong raises concerns over detention.

Amnesty International has called on Hong Kong authorities to reveal the whereabouts of Uyghur student Abuduwaili Abudureheman, who has been missing since he arrived in the city from South Korea earlier this month. There are fears that he has been unlawfully extradited to mainland China without due process and is at risk of arbitrary detention and torture. Abudureheman was on a Chinese government “watch list” of Uyghurs and other Muslims from the Xinjiang region, based on the fact that he had a history of overseas travel.
