UN Human Rights Official Resigns in Protest of Gaza's Genocide

Craig Mokhiber, the director in the New York Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, has resigned from the United Nations over what he describes as a "text-book case of genocide" in Gaza. In a letter to the UN's High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mokhiber criticized Western governments for their complicity in the conflict, accusing them of arming and supporting Israel's atrocities. His resignation comes amid increasing reports of antisemitic and Islamophobic incidents worldwide, and as the death toll in Gaza surpasses 8,000 since the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
