Iranian Rapper Toomaj Salehi Faces Jail Time for Protesting Government

Iranian rapper Toomaj Salehi has been sentenced to six years and three months in prison for his support of anti-government protests. Salehi, who was found guilty of "corruption on Earth," was spared execution but has been subjected to months of solitary confinement. His lawyer stated that he was cleared of insulting the Supreme Leader and communicating with hostile governments. Salehi's arrest came after protests erupted over the death of Mahsa Amini, who was arrested for wearing an "improper" hijab.
