Dissident's Daring Jet Ski Escape from China Unveiled

Chinese critic and activist, Kwon Pyong, known for his provocative anti-government comments, has reportedly fled China on a personal watercraft, crossing 200 miles of ocean to reach South Korea, where he hopes to seek asylum. Kwon had previously served time in prison for charges of inciting subversion. The South Korean coast guard confirmed finding a man stranded on a mud flat with a Jet Ski-type vehicle, and he has been detained on suspicion of illegal entry. Kwon's bid for asylum is uncertain, as South Korea has granted asylum to only a small fraction of applicants in recent years.
