Humanity has exceeded Earth's annual resource budget in under eight months, marking Earth Overshoot Day on August 2. This year's date is earlier than ever before, but the pace of resource consumption is slowing down. To push back Overshoot Day, the Global Footprint Network suggests increasing the share of low-carbon energy, reducing food waste, reforesting land, creating 15-minute cities, implementing a four-day work week, and promoting green transportation.
