Venezuela and Guyana have agreed to a high-level meeting to discuss the disputed Essequibo region, following a nationwide referendum in Venezuela that threatened to annex the territory. The proposed meeting, scheduled for December 14, aims to de-escalate the conflict and establish a dialogue.
