"Unearthing Ancient History: Nero's Theater Found Beneath Future Four Seasons near Vatican"

The ruins of Nero's Theater, an imperial theater mentioned in ancient Roman texts but never found, have been discovered under the garden of the future Four Seasons Hotel near the Vatican in Rome. Archaeologists excavated the site as part of planned renovations on the Palazzo della Rovere and uncovered artifacts dating from the Roman Empire to the 15th century. The findings include rare glass goblets and pottery from the 10th century, as well as marble columns and gold-leaf decorated plaster. The portable antiquities will be moved to a museum, while the theater ruins will be covered again after further studies.
