Trump’s Gaza ‘Board of Peace’ signs in at Davos amid cautious international turnout

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Donald Trump unveiled the ‘Board of Peace’ to oversee Gaza’s reconstruction, with a signing attended by leaders from Bahrain, Morocco, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Mongolia and the UAE; several major European nations (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, Norway) reportedly declined or were absent, and the UK said it would not sign today while Putin was invited but not present. The board, endorsed by the U.N., has a broader mandate beyond Gaza, and an executive board led by US officials and others was announced to operationalize it.
