Rare Flash Flood Emergencies were issued in Texas and New Orleans as severe weather brought heavy rain, reported tornadoes, and damaging winds to the South. The National Weather Service extended the Flash Flood Emergency for New Orleans, with over 7 inches of rain falling. Flash Flood Emergencies were also issued in East Texas, where a foot of rain caused major flooding. Multiple water rescues were conducted, and the South, previously facing drought, is now experiencing a rain surplus.
