"Drones Take Center Stage as Fourth of July Fireworks Fizzle"

The July 4 drone show in Boulder, Colorado, was delayed due to severe weather, including lightning. The show is now scheduled to begin at 9:40 p.m. The University of Colorado Boulder police advised people to seek shelter in the concourse or Bach Fieldhouse. The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming. The drones can fly in light rain but not in heavy rain, lightning, or sustained winds over 20 mph. If the weather does not improve by 10 p.m., the show will be canceled. Other nearby cities, such as Louisville and Estes Park, also experienced weather-related disruptions to their fireworks displays.
