The Fear of Underground Abortion Networks in Modern Times

In the 1960s, a group of young women in Chicago created an underground abortion network called "Jane" to help women access safe abortions. Today, with the recent Supreme Court reversal of Roe v. Wade and the mid-term takeover of the US House of Representatives by Republicans, conservative lawmakers and judges have acted on their anti-abortion beliefs, leading to more than a dozen states banning or imposing severe restrictions on abortion. However, medication abortion is now available and used by 54% of people in the United States to end a pregnancy.
