World's First Wooden Satellite Successfully Launched

Scientists have launched the world's first wooden satellite, LignoSat, into space aboard a SpaceX mission to study its durability in orbit. Developed by Kyoto University and Sumitomo Forestry, the satellite uses Hoonoki wood, known for its strength and stability. The project aims to explore sustainable alternatives to metal satellites and envisions future applications like timber homes on the Moon and Mars.
