Trailblazing LA politician Gloria Molina dies at 74 after cancer battle.

Gloria Molina, a longtime political leader in Southern California, has died at the age of 74 after battling terminal cancer for three years. Molina served in various elected roles, including the California state Assembly, Los Angeles City Council, and Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. She was the first Latina to serve on both the City Council and Board of Supervisors. Molina was born in Montebello to a Mexican mother and Mexican-American father and grew up in Pico-Rivera. She was a champion for women's health and spearheaded the establishment of Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles.
